Fisherman's Wharf is a destination for over eighty-seven percent of San Francisco's visitors. This waterfront marketplace includes The Anchorage, The Cannery, Ghirardelli Square and Pier 39. "Fish Alley" is the Wharf's working hub where thousands of tons of sole, shrimp, salmon, sea bass, squid and other deep-sea delicacies. Fisherman's Wharf is also home to a fleet of historic ships at Hyde Street Pier and just a few steps from there, the Maritime Museum has a spectacular view of the bay. Crab season is mid-November through June, with the height of it during the month of February when the "Crab Festival" takes place.
